An annual event in Shalomar, when Digits are elected to the Hands of Order. Residents of each city-state nominate a number of Electors (fixed at 50 for each city-state, regardless of its actual population), who then travel to Sheene to ultimately vote. Each city-state also nominates one candidate to represent that region. Because there is no law requiring Electors to vote for the candidate of their own region, all candidates focus their political energy on picking up the votes of Electors from all over Shalomar.
The election itself is preceded by a month-long festival, which brings citizens from all over Shalomar to Sheene for trade, entertainment, and intrigue. Each of the great merchant houses attempts to outdo each other with varieties of their strong drinks brewed especially for Election. During the festival, candidates engage in speeches and debate in many locations around Sheene. A prestigious Uno tournament, drawing the best players from all over the realm, is also held during the festival. The actual election is held in the compound of the Church of Saint Cuthbert, and monitored by his priests.
